Although I have alluded to the synthesiser like functions of the S3000 in the main text, there really is a lot more to it that could stand a little explanation. On the S1000 you would see things in the program editing pages such as...

  • velocity > freq: +00
  • pressure > freq: +00
  • envelope-2 > freq: +00

These were all fixed assignments and all you could adjust was the numeric value. The equivalent on the S3000 looks like this:

  • Velocity > freq: +00
  • Lfo2 > freq: +00
  • Env2 > freq: +00

Not much different you say? Well, what you will find is that the cursor can land on the controller as well as the value, so instead of velocity controlling frequency you can choose among these:

The exclamation mark shows that the controller value is only registered at the moment of note on. These types of assignment are dotted all around the edit program pages.
