This song is very challenging to produce. I began to imagine that this going to be one of the artist best songs. It is because the song lyrics and hook is very meaningful. In short, the songwriting process is done well.

It starts with the recording of the drums where I made very simple pattern of recorded drum loops from Tama and sequence using Hotstepper.I like this song to be very lively, dry and pop rock in style. My purpose is to fit the current trend of 2008 female pop rock music.

The next one is the recording of the synths. I try my best to be creative in producing the synths as to fit the song mood. The bass synth intro was produced using FM7 Minimal Rhythm function. It was great, a kind of unique bass vibrations.

The guitars are also very difficult to come up in the mix. I use at least 2 layers of guitar tracks, panned hard at +75,+50,-75,-50. Then I work on the notes very hard as I made the guitar sound very unique and trendy.

The guitar solo was made from mixing solo done in acoustic and distorted guitar. I believe it was done well because it sounds great.

The bass is a simple 8-beat pattern, very straightforward to record but very hard to mix. The technique I employ is careful EQ between bass and kick. I assigned the kick to occupy a lower bass frequency than the bass guitar. The resulting sound is good; you can hear both kick and bass guitar in the background groove.

The vocals are the best part of the mix for which I am proud of. The artist is singing this song very well. The falsetto triplet in the vocal intro is excellent. In the intro, I panned her voice in the mix from left to right then to the center. This creates a simulation of a singer walking in the stage from left to right then to the center to perform the song.

The mastering is straightforward. I did my best not to damage the dynamics. The song reviews is very favorable and well accepted by listeners in broadjam.com.

Equipments/ Audio software used: Soundmax Onboard soundcard, ATP3 speaker, Adobe Audition 1.5.
