Achieving the 'mastered sound' while keeping a wide dynamic range
McDSP is proud to announce the ML4000 Mastering Limiter.
The ML4000 is a high-resolution limiter designed for music, mastering, post, and live sound, in single and multi-band configurations.
The ML1 single-band configuration is a mastering limiter with a brick wall design, coupled with multiple stages of limiting for superior peak detection. A continuous Knee control allows the ML1 to operate transparently or aggressively. The ML1 also has look ahead and zero latency modes.
The ML4 multi-band configuration is a 4-band Gate, Expander (upwards or downwards), and Compressor fed into the same limiter algorithm found in the ML1. Each band's Gate, Expander, and Compressor can be configured separately, or linked together. Steep 24 dB/Oct crossover filters minimize signal leakage into adjacent bands.
The ML4000 will ship in July of 2006. Retail price is $495 (USD). The ML4000 is also available in the Emerald Pack HD ($2695) and Emerald Pack Native ($1395) plug-in bundles. Existing Emerald Pack customers can purchase the ML4000 as an upgrade for $295
